The Company
Canyon Lake Gardens is a charming country greenhouse located in Caldwell between 10th Avenue and Farmway Road. The business has been in operation for seven years under this name and 17 years under a previous owner. It is currently a seasonal retail greenhouse, operating from April through June, each year.
Canyon Lake Gardens specializes in high quality bedding plants coupled with exceptional customer service. Their plant inventory is extensive and services a retail customer base that spreads across the Treasure Valley and into Oregon. The company also provides wholesale/custom plant services for several large commercial users.
The Location
Canyon Lake Gardens is located on three lots, totaling 2.13 acres, fronting Karcher Road (Hwy 55). Two retail greenhouses serve the visiting public. The main greenhouse contains annuals, hanging baskets, pottery, wrought iron, supplies and a "Custom Container Corner". The second greenhouse contains perennials, herbs and vegetables. Additionally, there are three production greenhouses on the property.
The Strengths
Canyon Lake Gardens has an excellent reputation of superior customer service. This site has been used as a nursery for over 20 years. As a result, it has a dedicated local following in addition to the commercial and "custom" plantings that the company is well known for. In fact, the company has been referred to by many customers as the "Edwards Greenhouse" of Canyon County.
The Ideal Buyer
This business would be an excellent "add on" for existing nurseries or an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneur to own his/her own business. This is a "turn key" operation and the owners would provide transition assistance on a negotiated basis.
The Possibilities
With their reputation as a gardener's paradise, this business has the potential to continue its success as a seasonal business and/or develop into a full-time operation with significant growth potential. With the additional house and acreage around Canyon Lake Gardens, there is plenty of room to expand and compete head-on with the larger nurseries in Boise and Nampa. |
